Sirius_Petro

Basic petrophysical studies can be performed easily through Sirius_Petro, facilitating a quick look interpretation of well Logs. The user has the possibility with few clicks of mouse to get an insight of the most important petrophysical parameters and attributes.

The user has the facility to introduce, store and load mathematical equations of his interest and apply them to the whole interval, to a user-defined intervals or to specific startigraphic intervals delimited by horizons.

A four dimensional cross-plot help define electrofacies, petrophysical relationships, and define regressions equations that bind the different attributes.
An utility called Sirius_Digichart help vectorize any kind of 2 dimensional charts that can be used as backgrounds within the cross-plots.

Features

Sirius_ is one of the few Borehole Logging packages available and is designed to be used in the lab while examining subsurface core. It can also be used for logging of outcrop data or most other kinds of lithologic data. The program allows the direct collection of descriptive geological data in a fast, standardized manner, and translates the data into a finished strip log that is suitable for the publication in reports or any other written media. The data can also be exported in a simple format to be read by other databases.

The raw data are saved to, and retrieved from, disk and may be redrafted and displayed at any time using different display options. The geologist or technician is therefore relieved of the need to record notes or rough strip logs that require tedious and time-consuming final drafting into a finished display log.

Sirius_ uses two main windows for the collection and display of data; the Data Entry Grid and the Strip Log windows:

The latest version of the program has the following enhancements:

  • Cross Plot facility (4 parameters at time)

  • Zones edition, selection and insertion in strip log

  • Quick Look Interpretation

  • Formula Parser

  • Facies and Interpretive remarks can be recorded

  • Expanded menu of lithologies with 4 "palettes" for each of siliciclastics and carbonates for a total of 128 lithologies (all fully customisable).

  • External numeric data (X-Y data) can be imported for plotting as a curve on the strip log. Many curves can be plotted in a single track, with several different options.

  • Header remarks are unlimited in length.

  • Enhanced strip log format with more esthetic division lines and rotated text. Separate column for descriptive "icon" items.

  • Projects management

  • Formation Tops

  • Curve manipulation (Slice, Merge)

  • Simple Curve Depth Shifting

  • Drifting (BaseLine) correction

  • Calibration Curve

  • Copy/paste of curves within the same document or to another document

  • Create new document

  • Curve AreaFill

  • Curve Stratigraphic Shading

  • Header Design

  • Header Editor

  • Lithology pattern editor

  • Tabular Data Grid (Curves, Lithologies, Comments, Formation Tops)

  • Undo - Redo

  • Curve Editing

  • Customizable interface (multi documents and files view, task pane, DragDrop)
